Microstructural and Corrosion Properties of Burnished 6060 Aluminum Alloy

چکیده

A process for producing a black oxide coating on aluminum alloy was investigated in the present work. The blackening is widely used industrial applications, but it not deeply studied alloys. aim of this work to study obtained AA6060 surfaces employing two different solutions, both containing potassium permanganate, copper nitrate and nitric acid. first solution carried out coloring treatment at 50 °C, whereas second one done room temperature. Different immersion times were investigated. morphology by means optical electron microscopy evaluate color layer presence defects, porosities, cracks. X-ray diffraction analysis performed protective composition. corrosion properties with potentiodynamic polarization tests electrochemical impedance spectroscopy tests. results showed that temperature, besides clear advantages term costs safety, more uniform coatings increased performance comparison ones higher temperatures.
